Low Phosphorus*
Low dietary phosphorus helps slow down the development of renal disease and minimize the risk of secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Restricted Protein Level*
Restricted level and the high quality of protein helps reduce the production of uremic toxins while maintaining sufficient kidney fluid turn over and body condition.

Phosphorus Binding
Addition of Phosphorus binders (chitosan and calcium carbonate) helps reduce the phosphorus bioavailability (clinically proven by Virbac)(1)

High Energy Density & Palatability
High energy density helps deliver small and concentrated daily rations, and high palatability helps maintain sufficient daily food intake, to support patients against undernutrition.

Helps limit the risk of:

  • Secondary Hyperparathyroidism: Increased dietary calcium intake (0.9%) allows to achieve Ca:P ratio= 2 and limit the side-effect of high phosphatemia.
  • Metabolic acidosis: The addition of alkalising agent (calcium carbonate) increases the pH in the body fluids.
  • Hypokalaemia: Increased dietary potassium intake (0.8%) compensates for urinary losses and limits the risk of hypokalaemia.
  • Lower urinary tract disease: Adjusted RSS for struvite and oxalate help maintain urinary health.
  • Limits muscle loss: The restricted, but sufficient dietary protein content (30%) and the high quality of protein (in vivo apparent digestibility coefficient: 88.5%) help maintain muscle mass.

Chronic Kidney Disease Management
