KEY BENEFITS & CHARACTERISTICS

Low Phosphorus*
Low dietary phosphorus helps slow down the development of renal disease and minimize the risk of secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Restricted Protein Level*
Restricted level and the high quality of protein helps reduce the production of uremic toxins while maintaining sufficient kidney fluid turn over and body condition.

Phosphorus Binding
Addition of Phosphorus binders (chitosan and calcium carbonate) helps reduce the phosphorus bioavailability (clinically proven by Virbac)(1)

High Energy Density & Palatability
High energy density helps deliver small and concentrated daily rations, and high palatability helps maintain sufficient daily food intake, to support patients against undernutrition.

High EPA+DHA
High level of omega-3, especially EPA + DHA, helps modulate inflammatory processes in the kidney.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS & CHARACTERISTICS

Increases Antioxidant Activity
High level of vitamin E helps promote antioxidant activity.

Limits the risk of FLUTD
Adjusted RSS for struvite and oxalate help maintain urinary health.

Limits the risk of Digestive Ulcerations
Addition of Montmorillonite helps protect the digestive mucosa against damage linked to uremia.

Limits the risk of Metabolic Acidosis
Addition of alkalising agents (calcium carbonate) helps limit the risk of metabolic acidosis.

Limits the risk of Hyperparathyroidism
Increased calcium, with Ca:P ratio = 2, helps limit the side effect of high phosphataemia and limit the risk of hyperparathyroidism.

Limits the risk of Hypokalaemia
Increased dietary potassium content helps compensate for urinary losses and limit the risk of hypokalaemia.

Suitable for Adult and Senior cats
The amounts of all essential nutrients fit the daily requirement of adult and senior cats.

VETERINARY GLOBAL CARE

Chronic Kidney Disease

  • Low phosphorus
  • Added phosphorus binders (Chitosan & Calcium carbonate)
  • Reduces uremic toxins (Restricted protein of high quality)
  • Helps modulate inflammatory processes in the kidney (High EPA + DHA, Vitamin E)
  • Limits the risks of digestive ulcerations (Montmorillonite)

Denutrition Management

  • High energy & Palatability

Helps limit the risk of:

  • Secondary Hyperparathyroidism
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Hypokalaemia
  • LUTD
  • Limits muscle loss (restricted, but sufficient amount of protein)
  • High Digestive Tolerance
  • Coat support
  • Withdrawal of major allergens

High digestive tolerance:

  • The addition of Montmorillonite, Lactobacilli, lignocellulose and FOS helps maintain a healthy digestive tract (mucosa, microflora, motility and transit).

Skin & Coat Support:

  • The protein content (30%), especially of animal origin (72%), and the high and balanced omega-6 (3.5%) and omega-3 (1.1%) fatty acids help maintain healthy skin and shiny coat.

Withdrawal of major allergens:

  • The diet is made without beef, gluten, maize, wheat, soya, egg, and dairy products.

Denutrition management:

  • The high energy density (calculated 401 kcal/100g, measured: 414 kcal/100g), thanks to high fat level (21%), and the high digestibility of nutrients allow to propose small concentrated daily rations and help maintain optimal body weight.
  • High palatability: The choice of ingredients, mainly of animal origin, favors food intake

Helps limit the risk of:

  • Secondary Hyperparathyroidism: Increased dietary calcium intake (0.9%) allows to achieve Ca:P ratio= 2 and limit the side-effect of high phosphatemia.
  • Metabolic acidosis: The addition of alkalising agent (calcium carbonate) increases the pH in the body fluids.
  • Hypokalaemia: Increased dietary potassium intake (0.8%) compensates for urinary losses and limits the risk of hypokalaemia.
  • Lower urinary tract disease: Adjusted RSS for struvite and oxalate help maintain urinary health.
  • Limits muscle loss: The restricted, but sufficient dietary protein content (30%) and the high quality of protein (in vivo apparent digestibility coefficient: 88.5%) help maintain muscle mass.

Chronic Kidney Disease Management

  • Low dietary phosphorus content (0.45%) and added phosphorus binders (chitosan, calcium carbonate) help reduce phosphorus bioavailability. (efficacy proven by Virbac)1
  • Helps reduce uremic toxins: The high biological value of proteins (amino acid profile) favours the integration of amino acids into the anabolism processes and therefore reduces catabolism.
  • The high EPA+DHA content (0.4%) helps modulate inflammatory processes in the kidneys.
  • Addition of antioxidant: The richness in vitamin E (610 mg/kg) helps reduce oxidative processes.
  • Limits the risk of digestive ulcerations: Added Montmorillonite (0.5%) helps protect the digestive mucosa against damage linked to uremia.
