KEY BENEFITS & CHARACTERISTICS

Low Energy Density*
Low energy density of the diet helps achieve rapid weight loss (efficacy proven by Virbac)(1)

Improves Lean mass / Fat Mass Ratio
High Protein- Low Carbohydrate (HP-LC) formulation helps preserve lean mass and decrease fat mass during weight loss (efficacy proven by    Virbac)(1)

Joint Support
Addition of chondroitin sulphate and chitosan helps support joints and thus improve interactions and life quality.

High Crude Fibre Improves Satiety
High crude fibre content, especially insoluble fibres, in association with high level of protein, helps promote satiety.

Low Glycemic Index & Total Sugar
HP-LC formulation with low amounts of starch and total sugars helps reduce the impact of the meal on glycaemia and insulinemia (efficacy proven by Virbac)(1)(2) and helps manage patients with diabetes or insulin resistance.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS & CHARACTERISTICS

Fat Burning
Added L-carnitine as fat burner helps lean mass preservation during weight loss.

Increased levels of vitamins and trace elements
(by 15% compared to Veterinary HPM Adult Dog) Formula enriched with vitamins and trace elements guarantees adequate contributions despite of feeding restriction and small rations.

Controlled palatability
Richness in animal protein and fat respects natural preferences of carnivores to help achieve compliance.

Suitable for Adult and Senior dogs
The amounts of all essential nutrients fit the daily requirement of adult and senior dogs.

VETERINARY GLOBAL CARE

REDUCTION OF EXCESSIVE BODY WEIGHT

• Low energy density
  (reduced fat content)
• Helps increase satiety
  (high fibre, high protein)
• Increased volumetric ration
  (low kibble density)
• Adapted feeding rations

DIABETES MELLITUS MANAGEMENT

  • Low glycemic index
  • Single source of carbohydrate (Purified potato starch)

JOINT SUPPORT

  • Muscle Mass preservation (High Protein)
  • Chondroprotective agents (Chondroitin Sulphate + Chitosan, Vitamin E)
  • Lean mass preservation (HP)
  • Fat mass loss (LC)
  • Added fat burner (L-Carnitine)
  • Immune Support
  • High Digestive Tolerance
  • Urinary Health
  • Healthy Renal Function
  • Withdrawal of major allergens
  • Lean mass preservation: The high protein content (36%) helps maintain lean mass during weight loss.
  • Fat mass loss: The low carbohydrate content (21.5%), and added L-carnitine (330 mg/kg) as fat burner, help reduce fatty tissue during weight loss.

Immune support:
The high protein content (36%), with especially the richness in glutamine (4.5%), arginine (2.4%) and sulphur amino acids (methionine + cystine: 0.9%), and added vitamin E (570 mg/kg) help maintain a healthy immune system.

High digestive tolerance:
The addition of Sepiolite, Lactobacilli, lignocellulose, FOS, and psyllium helps maintain a healthy digestive tract (mucosa, microbiota, transit).

Urinary health:
The high level of dietary protein (36%), mainly of animal origin (94%), stimulates water intake, increases the urine volume and helps stabilise the urinary pH.

Healthy renal function:
The high content of protein (36%), of high quality (in vivo apparent protein digestibility coefficient: 81%), contributes to increased water turn over.

Withdrawal of major allergens:
The diet is made without beef, gluten, maize, wheat, rice, soya, egg, fish, dairy products.

Reduction of excessive body weight

  • Low energy density: The formulation with low fat (11.5%) and high fibre (15%) amounts provides low energy density (calculated 299 kcal/100g and measured in vivo 293 kcal/100g).
  • Helps increase satiety: The high protein (36%) and fibre (crude fibre: 15%, total dietary fibre: 23%) contents help promote satiety, key factor for optimal compliance during weight loss program.
  • Controlled palatability: The richness in animal ingredients respects natural preferences of carnivores and helps maintain palatability, other key factor of compliance during weight loss program.
  • Increased volumetric ration: The low kibble density (360 g/l) increases the volume of the daily ration in the feeding bowl.
  • The adapted feeding rations propose two programs of weight loss with different speeds of weight loss.
  • The formula is enriched with vitamins and trace elements (Plus 15% vs Veterinary HPM adult dog) to guarantee adequate contributions despite of feeding restriction.

Diabetes mellitus management:

  • The HP-LC formula, with low amounts of digestible carbohydrate (21.5%), starch (14%) and total sugars (1.1%) limits the impact of the meals on post prandial blood glucose and insulin concentrations (efficacy proven by Virbac)(1)
  • Potato starch, as single and purified source of starch, regulates starch digestion and glucose release.
  • Regulation of starch digestion: The high level of fibre (15%) helps regulate glucose absorption from dietary starch.
  • Stimulate gluconeogenesis: The high dietary protein content (36%) helps maintain stable glycaemia and regular provision of glucose to cells through gluconeogenesis.

Joint support:

  • Muscle mass preservation: The high protein content (36%) helps maintain the muscle mass.
  • Addition of chondroprotective agents: The association of chondroitin sulphate (430 ppm) and chitosan (430 ppm) helps support mobility.
  • Antioxidant activity: The richness in vitamin E (570 mg/kg) contributes to limit oxidative processes.
